Re: LS6 info...would someone be so kind as to...
If there is a Buildsheet, look for RPO NA9 in the Center section,as well as in box #96.
RPO NA9,or EEC,was the Charcoal Cannister that was mounted behind the Drivers side head light and captured Fuel Vapors as per the Clean air act.
If no buildsheet, look at the Fuel tank for three openings on top in the back.Or look at the Fuel pump for three openings,as well as the PCV hose for multiple openings.
Assuming all these are still original equipment and have not been replaced.Look at the radiator support for signs of a cannister support.Look for a Carb./intake heat Shield as all NA9's had this then.
Look at the Top Radiator Cover Panel, that displays the Tune up & cooling Specs. If the car came with NA9,it will show a Emission Conformity Decal in the CENTER of this Panel.Look closely as it may be missing, but show signs of it once there.
I'm curious, what type of Air Cleaner did this LS6 get built with?
CRV suffix was not a Factor for NA9,all engines were eligible if they were sold Brand new in the State of California,or Nevada.Even Dealer trades had to Conform to this Emission. Most were built at Van Nuys Plant, but sill not a requirement for NA9.
