Yenko liked to build iron-head L88's for customers, so that is where that reference comes from.
To my knowledge the white one from IL in that article is the only one that might be a 427 factory install, it has some unique badging that might indicate it being a prototype. The way the got around the emissions requirement for the 427 factory install in the '68's was to list the car as an 'export' - pretty slick!
