Ditto for Ford. All the factory backed Ford racers took there cars to the Indy dealership for engine "updates", trans and rearend changes. Ford also had their own "mini nationals" at a nearby dragstrip and the factory brass decided what big name driver got what car, who would run who if possible, and who would "red light" if they had enough points to get into the eliminator race, even though they hadnt won their class. Lots of
sneaky stuff going on in all the S/S race camps.
