Part of the discussion centered around an NOS pan I had for sale on ebay, part number 360450. First, I found out my pan is still available from GM. Guess NOS doesn't necessarilly mean no longer available. Anyway, we never received a definitive answer as to whether all three years used the same pan. So I decided to ask Mr. Definitive himself, and sent the following to Jerry M.

Did all the 302's use the same oil pan? Was it part umber 360009 for all three years? I know they all used the windage tray.
Last week I compared a known original from a 67 Z/28 (car is long gone, having been totaled in the 70's) with a 465220 and it sure looked different.
The 465220 looks identical, except for the paint finish, with the currently available 360450 pan.
We had quite a discussion on the yenko.net board, but no conclusive answers.

Got the following reply:
"Lynn,
There are actually three 302 pans for the three years. The 67's use a
2-step pan, early 68's are not quite the same and later 68 and 69's use
the current one available from GM. Only difference from pan available
now for 68-69 is the front seal thickness.

So, we already have a post of a picture for a 67 Z/28 pan, and know the late 68 & 69 pan look the same as the new ones, does anyone have a picture of an early 68 Z/28 pan?
