The paint was in the same condition as you see it cleaned up - it was just dirty. He had it repainted in the mid '70s, but those documents were "lost" from the pile I got with the car. He evidently had a little front end encounter which induced the repaint. The right fender has a '69 date on it, and the headlight bucket and associated trim was replaced. I'm still trying to track down where he had it done. It's laquer, and with clear on it, which nobody was doing in the '70s unless they wanted a "special" nice job! That fell into the custom category back then, before anybody even heard of base coat/clear coat. The blue is perfect, but the clear has a lot of dirt if it - I swear, some of it looks like pubic hairs! . A 1500 grit hair cut is all it needs, then a good polishing, and it will be absolutely stunning. Every single piece of trim on the car is better than you'd expect an NOS one to look fresh out of the wrapper. Most of the nooks and crannys are filled with wax build-up. This car was not driven in bad weather and was given an artist's care. That's what he was, very fanatical, and this car was his treasured piece of rolling art.

And I have all 4 of those mounted '64 14x6s, and NO they are not for sale. You need to find a set of 14x6 steels (with the safety bead) and get them in Daytona Blue with those NOS scab caps. I have a hunch you have 3 original wheels on that car, and you don't want to believe it.....

Joe, thank you very much for the kind words, but my recollection is a little different. I thought you had to suffer through looking at that car before I showed you the Model 94 that you were really interested in seeing............
