X44 is just a base car, could be anything from a 6 banger to a 350. D80 was the spoiler option, also available on any Camaro.
Check the build date against the VIN. X codes didn't start until December.
Having an X11 or X44 means nothing about the motor in the car, as these are both trim codes, but there does not seem to be any rhime or reason about the D80 getting stamped on the trim tag. Lots of cars ordered with the spoiler didn't have the D80 on the trim tag.
