It has generally been believed to be a real LS-6 convert but
not an L-89. I am only repeating what I have been told as I have never seen the car or it's documents other then what has been in magazines and on B-J when it was sold there. It sold there about 5 years ago for $45k from what I recall and a customer of mine was bidding on it at the time. Unfortunately, I told him to pass when it got to $45 as I thought that was getting rather ridiculous. He now says "

If in fact the hood, stripes and heads are real I would certainly think the current owner would be proud to share that info and the car as it would certainly be unique and valued beyond imagination.
