Default modified vs. stock

I got into a recent discussion with a car show judge about my T/A last weekend. I entered the car in the "1970-1979 Modified" category. Those of you know the history of my "BFG Tirebird" remember that Tom Senter replaced the original trashed 455HO with a Berger Chevrolet warranty replacement LS6 in 1972.

That, to me, means the car is modified. But this judge argued the car should be listed as "stock" because it has a GM engine!! "Modified" to him, was a Ford or MOPAR engine.

After a long discussion using my invoice and window sticker as proof, he finally agreed. Does everyone agree with me?

By the way I won 2nd place. Oh, and one more thing, I'd like to have a dollar for every time I'm asked at car shows, "I didn't know Yenko made a TransAm",..after seeing my Yenko Sports Car Club license plate holder.
