I never thought of putting in an extremely high bid just to win my own auction

That's a good idea. He got my ebay password and sent a bunch of messages to other sellers with the same "link". When you copied the link to the address bar and hit Enter, it took you to another ebay sign in page (which of course, he created) So, when you fill in your ebay handle and password, you're just giving it to him!
Anyway, I've changed my password and it appears there's no more nonsense going on. Still haven't heard from ebay, except to tell me my password got stolen. Haven't heard anything from them yet about the auction itself. There was a winning bidder who apparently didn't see the warnings I posted. HE asked for a total with shipping, so I wrote him a long note explaining what happened and that the auction had to be void at that point. Haven't heard back from him. I hope he doesn't try to cause trouble.
I had to sit here and email everyone who put in a bid, telling them what was up. Knots in my stomach all night.
