Re: I guess I'm overdue to get a jerk to deal with....
I think I can top this one...
not that I wanted to, but this just happened to me
I saw a 1995 Dodge 3500 ramp truck on ebay, didn't make reserve, so I called him and made a deal after auction ended... sale clearly states 59,xxx miles, his invoice to me says 59,230 miles, he says it's original and all the drivetrain is original... he's a legitimate NC used car dealer so I take him for his word... fly my guy there, pay the dealer, and we drive it back, and for grins have local Dodge dealer scan computer since truck looks like more miles than claimed... also has 5 open recalls against it...
low and behold the computer says it REALLY has 246,856 miles or just a small 185,600 mile discrepancy... born with ECM, never tampered with, no footprints.... also has a reman engine with a legit Mopar tag, seller says that's impossible, so I get a signed certification from my dealer stating the ACTUAL vehicle mileage, I also got an open MSO on a truck that's 12 years old, owned by 4 different car dealers, and never titled anywhere..
seller says it has clean Carfax, I counter saying that's impossible, because it has never been titled for Carfax to check it out and verify it
now, what would you guys do in this instance?? I also have an additional 4k worth of work done AFTER I got it, and before the ridiculous mileage discovery. I'm out about $15,500 at this point
I'm ready to sic the NC DMV and fed's on this guy...
