Default Re: COPO posi unit

Chuck,
All will need new carrier bearings, but none have spun bearings.
1. One of the units is missing springs and plates.
2. One unit has cracked and welded spring plates (I personally would not drive it like that)
3. A few of them have “teeth” marks from past blown r&ps, but no large gouges or bent flanges.
4. Two of them have wear on the drive side of the axle gear teeth, from being shimmed too tight. Flip the axle gears to drive on the good side of the tooth and there won’t be a problem.
5. I think one has rust pits on a few of the pinion and axle gears teeth from sitting. I will have to check.
6. One has had a ring gear tack welded to the flange at one time in the past, but the flange runs true.
7. One has a cross pin hole that is oblong, 0.0015” out of tolerance. It will be OK to drive, not to be hammered on like they were designed to be with slicks.
8. Several are excellent condition takeouts.
9. One is a blueprint rebuild that the buyer never sent me the money for.

Most of them have the correct original 3918832 pinion gears and 3918833 pinion washers. One or two of them might have the 3880140 pinion gears and 388014(1) pinion washers. All have the correct 3918831 axle gears and correct special case.

Let me know if you want pictures.
Eric
