Old thread. But, thought I would share what the problem was.

In my initial thread, I stated that I had tried a new pick up. Apparently not. I may have replaced the pick up in one of the distributors, but not in the one I ended up using.

It finally died completely, and I found a brand new one still in the box in one of my tool boxes. Replaced it, and it cured the no spark issue. Funny that for so long, it ran fine after cranking long enough, and then one day it just died. Just glad it happened at the house instead of while out on the road, with a load.

Running as well as it ever did.
