Decided to post over in this thread as this is still a work in process - don't want to put out bad info in my build thread. I may have connected with the original owner of my Rats Nest COPO. Another member on this site used to work with this guy and helped facilitate the connection - kudos to SYC site!

Bought new in early 1970 from Ray Bryant Chevrolet (pic is dated May 1970). Lemans Blue, black interior, 4 speed, no spoiler, X44 COPO. Someone else had ordered the car and backed out. He bought it shortly after returning from Vietnam. Many of the data points I have from my research with the 2nd owner's family align with info I got tonight. There are a few discrepancies that need worked out before I can say for sure.

Fingers crossed, I'm hopeful, but I may never get to the final answer. Nonetheless, it's a "baby picture" of a Supercar when it was just a few months off the assembly line - that in itself is cool!
