Freddie - I was thinking the same thing. The month "D" looks consistent with other known assembly stamp characters, but the suffix "D" appears to be a slightly different font. If it was stamped separate, they did a good job of alignment and spacing.

TMP - I am not well versed in Firebirds, but the Camaro Muncies in 1970 did not have that bracket/clip whihc is why I was wondering if it could have been a 1969 thing....
