These are the "I" codes I see for 1968. None for I5, however there is an IV for a 396/325hp engine. Could it be possibly that someone used a 5 in place of a broken or missing V? I've seen substitutions in the past. Just a thought.

IK 1968 396 325 Chevrolet Police
IN 1968 396 325 Chevrolet Police
IV 1968 396 325 Chevrolet
