Speaking of ZL1 # 43 I got this email from the orig owner this morning. He allowed me to post it.

I was just reading the posts on the ZL1 #43 and I was intrigued by the reference made by some individual referring to the opportunity to purchase the car.
I’m the person who owned the car which was stolen after I filed suit against Hauser Chevrolet for refusing to fix it. The car had a warranty and by rights they were in violation of those terms.
Actually the car sat inside a locked fenced yard along with brand new cars (Corvettes, Camaros, Novas, regular Chevys and trucks). The Zl1 #43 was the only used car in that lot and near the locked gate. The car was parked there for over a year and very conveniently “disappeared” between a Sunday night and a Monday morning.
A meeting had been schedule between myself, my lawyer, Greg Moore (owner of Hauser Chevrolet) and the Regional Sales Representative for Chevrolet for 10:00 that Monday morning. About 8:30 AM, Bethlehem Police called to let me know that car had been reported stolen. How convenient, hey!!!!
An acquaintance and I have spent a tremendous amount of time over the years in trying to locate the car. From what I have been told and my gut feeling from the beginning has been, that the “caper” was an inside job, due to the fact that Greg Moore was Racing the #4 ZL1 and that he was using my #43 Vin to get parts for the #4 car.
Anyway, since its been over 40 years and some of those individuals that I spoke with have passed away, there are very few people left that may know what really happened to the car. One thing is for sure, who ever has the car will never be able to sell it as the ZL1 #43 since my insurance company still holds the tittle and PA DMV has the vin recorded as stolen.
I still have the original paper work and have asked my insurance company that if the car is ever recovered, that they inform me because I would like to have shot at getting it back.

LOTS OF LUCK, Right???
