The ZL1 Camaro was a sales disaster for Chevy. Not only was Gibb supposed to have an exclusive on the COPO, the initial option msrp was supposed to be about $2000. That would have put sticker price around $5300; maybe he would have been able to sell them. Instead they jacked the option price to $4160 putting list price over $7300. Then they allowed other dealers to order them.
I believe when Chevy re-distributed them they cut the invoice by around $2000 and even that didn't help much. The Degnan ad states "Save over $2000."
