Well...this hasn’t gone as planned, I installed the Hays pressure plate that I purchased off eBay and it was a dud.....hardly any foot pressure so it wouldn’t hold. I did get a full refund.
Then, after a lot of research, I ordered a McLeod diaphragm pressure plate. They claim it’s good for 450-500 horsepower.....it isn’t. Right away, I noticed the foot pressure is lighter than the original Hays I removed. I’ve driven it a couple times and it slips when shifting hard. It definitely does not have the clamping pressure that the Hays had.
I’m going to go on a cruise tomorrow......and if I have issues, I’m contacting McLeod to see what the heck I’m going to do.....very frustrating as it’s a lot of work.
