Sorry, but it won't let me post photos.
If I remember correctly, from the factory in 1963 and 1964, Chevrolet full size cars had the checker flag "V" emblem on the fender indicated a 327. A 283 whould have had a plain "V" emblem. The 409 Cars had the checkered flag "V" emblem and a "409" call out above it. But that was when I was in High School and we were buying them for $500.00 used, and that was a long time ago.
