I really wish you hadn't posted that link! I've wanted one of those "early" Novas for a long time now, and a picture of one (in my favorite color!) just makes me want one even more! You said it's your "wife's car"...does she ever let YOU drive it !

Actually I get to drive it a lot, more than I should(she is sitting behind me). She got the tires and wheels for Valentines Day last year and the new paint for Mother's Day. I keep telling her how lucky she is. She only does the windows anyway!!! For all this she let me buy the Blue Deuce from Dave.

I think that the "L-79" option did make a Chevy(that was equipped with it)a "Supercar". Bill "Grumpy" Jenkins totally knocked the NHRA Stock Eliminator Class on it's "hind end" when he brought his Chevy II to the track during the '66? and '67 season. I bought a "vintage" magazine (a "Hemmings" publication) at "Barrett Jackson" that had an article that road tested a L-79 equipped, 1965 Chevelle Malibu (non-SS)convertible. The little (Hydraulic-cammed) 327 motor was really very innovative.
I wanted to make everyone aware that a Chevelle that Frank Payne of "Flying A Restorations" is featured in the most current issue of "Muscle Car Review". The car is a 1967 Chevelle Malibu (non SS) L-79 car. Nice job Frank!
