I have a 69 Camaro project (rolling chassis) that I want to fix up. I have a chance to buy an original 1970 Impala 454 with 400 turbo trans, power windows, tilt column,12 bolt rear,15x7 rallys that runs but needs interior work. All for $2500
What stuff from this Impala would work on my 69 Camaro? Obviously I could use the engine, trans and wheels but what about everything else??? |

I would vote for keeping the big block Impala intact and then find yourself a crate big block.

I'd buy the 70 for that price, cause thats a steal. Also, I wouldn't split the engine up from the car, cause theres like none of those 454 70's left anywhere.

Also pending when the block was cast or if she was a police special there is a chance the 512 casting could have 4 bolt mains.

Joe,
I would agree. Keep it whole as very few of these cars remain. Can you fill out your profile? You are more likely to get many more responses when you come on new and need help if we know a little more about you. Especially if someone is from your same area. ![]() Rick

I'd like to see some pictures of the Impala. 2 door or 4? I had a '70 Impala 2 door as my first car. It was a hand-me-down from my dad. At that time Starsky & Hutch was big, so my dad had the same stripe put on the car. It was a fun first car. It had lots of room in the trunk for beer.
