69 Chevelle Jack
I need a little help with the correct jack for my Framingham built 69 Chevelle built 05A. I believe there are two different types? I would like to find a correct one for my car. Can someone help me out with this?
Thanks Lawrence

From the few I've seen, the T type mast would be correct for you.

The few survivor Framingham cars I have seen all had the square masts. The one I currently own included. From the parts book for 69, there were as many as 5 available. I've only seen the T mast consistently on Baltimore cars. I think the mast is around 33" long as I recall from memory. My Kansas City and Fremont cars both have the square masts as well. FWIW.

Would this one be correct for my car? I believe this is the square mast?

That is the "T" mast (very common to Baltimore cars). With 500,000+ 69 Chevelle units produced over 6 plants, I'd have a hard time saying definitely what jack should be in the trunk of your car. Without knowing production suppliers and vendors, that would be a tough call. If it fits and it is dated right, I'd use it. As I mentioned earlier, original Framingham cars that I have seen had the square shaped mast.
Maybe some other Framingham Chevelle owners will chime in here. Phil W. |
