How cow. I didn't realize they were even worse off than GM. It really looks like the brand is done for. Guess those wanting a new Challenger should get one, and soon.
Maybe someone with some more insight can comment. http://money.cnn.com/2009/04/23/auto...ion=2009042311 |

I swear, if I hear one more so called "reporter" parrot the phrase that the Big 3 produce "unappealing cars" I just might go crazy! Last I knew, the new Challenger had one heck of a buzz (even among the *non* car folks I know)...and they've only sold 1/3 the of the number of cars as this time last year? Well, DUH! Someone show me any other car company on this planet that isn't down huge numbers...the trendy "be all, end all" of cars known as the Toyota Prius is stacked up like cord wood in dealers around the country (and I read just this morning that Toyota announced a huge price slash just the price just to get them out of their inventory), yet all of these writers fail to mention that. But then again, what do I know, I'm just some dumb car guy...

Might be some smokin deals on the new Challengers sitting on dealers lots that have to go.
Really a sad situation though. |

Yeah, I might just buy another Challenger. Waited 4 Months for Black 09 Challenger R/T 6 Speed. Now I might just buy that 09 Hemi Orange SRT-8.

I agree with you Rob. Alex Taylor III appears to be just one more newspaper guy who parrots the lines that he hears others blathering out. It's not much wonder that so many newspapers are in financial problems. Like the auto industry, they aren't delivering what people need and want. Now, how does that shoe fit? My understanding is that Chrysler is going to go into bankruptcy protection, not bankruptcy and liquidation. Once the fat is gone, they will be hooking up with Fiat. We'll see.

I heard yesterday that Fiat is now looking to buy Opel from GM. That would probably kill the Dodge deal no ?? ![]() [/ QUOTE ] I doubt it...the way I heard it this morning was, that Fiat would basically be *given* a large stake in Chrysler, in exchange for like technology or plant refixturing or something [kind of fuzzy on the last part, as I was trying to get my youngest daughter & I out the door!]...the US Treasury, I believe, is taking the health care...but I think both of these scenarios are post-chapter 11 filing? |
