Default NOS Cowl Induction Air Cleaner Identification?

My buddy just bought a bunch of NOS GM parts off a guy and one of the items was a NOS cowl induction air cleaner. Can anyone identify what it is for???? Thanks in advance!!!

The flange for the seal (3975986) is 69 camaro and 70-72 Chevelle. The extension (3955233) is 69 Camaro. The air filter (A212CW) could also be worth some money.

What engine application for a 69 camaro would use this style of air cleaner set up? What is it worth?

take a pic of the bottom of the air cleaner...early replacement where flat i believe, and those would be the same as production line...if i remember right, and would have more value....

That 986 flat ring that the rubber ring attaches to was original to Chevelle (Camaro was oval shaped, Chevelle was round with one edge cut off), but Chevrolet later superceded it for use with Camaro also. The 233 extention ring is for use with a 302/Z28. Looks like he got at least three of the #233 extentions. Assembly line correct housings also had a notch in the seam on the side of the snorkel where it folded over.

Nice score, but that fact that it is laying flat on the desk means there is no breather tube welding in the base. Is there pics of the base?

I did a pictorial comparison a while back on TC http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=54696
