Default Help for a friend

A good friend sent this email about a ’66 Chevelle. Would anyone know if the engine horsepower can be determined from the information below?

Thanks.

"Need some help on something, a friend has a 66 SS 396 he has always assumed it was a 360HP car, and it may be. This past weekend he found and talked to the original owner, the original owner says it is a 375hp car. Obviously the original motor is long gone; he has owned the car twice for a total of probably 30 years now. We found the body build sheet! It is a Kansas car the body broadcast sheet shows in position 5 line 1 under engine opt either the numeral 3, 5, 8 or S, this is beside position 4 line 1 engine cyl “8”, it is old and hard to read but complete".
