It is my understanding that the Motion Cobra was not an original Dragonsnake.

I don't think the car had any connection to Motion, but was rather an official entry by Shelby America themselves. I just know it was parked in front of me in the staging lanes at the NHRA Nationals in Indianapolis, not even sure if it was 1964 or 65. It could have been '64, when I was in the same class with my '63 split-window fuelie. Maybe somebody can make use of the image, perhaps even ID the car and year.</div></div> ![]()

Hi:
The original small-block MOTION Cobra (gold metalflake) was a street model Cobra converted to Dragonsnake specs with help from Shelby American. It ran carburetion as well as Hilborn injection, and in NHRA classes and Exhibition. A full story on it and the big-block King Cobra, both driven to records by builder, Joel Rosen is in my book. I forgot to mention that the King Cobra is scheduled to be at the Muscle Car & Corvette Nationals in Chicago. Len Perham is bringing it from Northern California and is really excited to be part of the Baldwin-Motion/MOTION Reunion.
