Does a 1970 nova ss 396 4 speed have a starter heat shield ? Is it the same as a 69 like the one Heart Beatcity makes?There is a odd nut that holds it on. Cannot find it in the assembly manual. thanks

Yes it does have the shield and spl nut. Its on page 302 of the assembly manual under the L-34 starter assembly. It has the same part numbers as the 69 so I assume it is the same.

Yes, it should have the heat shield.Found a NOS one on e-bay this past summer for my L34.They also repop that special nut you need.
