Default Let the Games begin!!

Tomorrow the Winter Olympic Games begin here and In Whistler.
Its been a very exciting time since July 2003 when we were announced as the Olympic City.
Yes there has been a lot of money spent on venues, new roads,a rapid transit system extention and facilities upgrades, worth every dime spent.
The city is buzzing with atheletes and media,NBC alone has 5000 media personel here. There are 13,000 police and military for security. The infrastructure in place is truely amazing.
For the next 14 days you can see Vancouver and Whistler through the media and see why it is one of the graetest cities in the world.
I will be taking in 7 sporting events and many cultural events over the next 17 days.
Despite having a warmer/wetter winter all sporting venues are in great shape. It snowed last night on the local mountains and Whistler is in perfect shape.
We could have used some of the snow dumped on DC and Maryland though.
The Vancouver Olympic Offices are two blocks from my offices and they have leased a vacant industrial lot to park 1/3 of their 4600 GM sponsored vehicles. I may purchase a SUV from the vehicle Auction when the fleet is disbursed at the end of April.

Go Canada Go!!!

Paul
