Default Wheel dates

Trying to decode wheel dates for my 72 Chevelle:

I assume first letter is month?
Second number is day?
Third number is year?

So K-1-1 = November 1, 1971??

Looks like:
K-1-1 4 13

What is the "4" and the "13" immediately left and right of the valve stem?

If my above assumptions are correct then here is my supposedly original spare tire and wheel

K-1-2 2 24

My car is a 3rd week of March 72 built car so how does that work with this date, or am I incorrect in my assumptions above? The spare wheel would have been made in November of 1972 for a car that was assembled in March of 1972.

Thanks

Jake

"K-1-1 with 4/13 AND K-1-2 with 2/24
What is the "4" and the "13" immediately left and right of the valve stem?

K-1-1 stands for Mfr./Plant/Year assembled for the wheel.
Breaksdown as such:
K=Kelsey Hayes Mfr.
1=Ass.Plant,Romulus Mi.
1 & 2=last digit of the year,1971 & 1972 respectively.

The 4/13 & 2/24 & CZ are the final assemby date & designated application for the ENTIRE wheel as a whole.
Breaksdown as such:
4=Month,April..or 2=February.
13=Day in April...or 24th February.
CZ=used on 1971-2 Chevelle Coupe & Convert. & St.Wagon models,produced by both KHayes & Norris Industries with a .88 offset.

Thanks-

So Feb 24, 1972 is perfect for my March 21, 1972 build date.
Appreciate the help.

Yep...that particular one looks good.
And just because your other wheel,(I assume it's one you picked up later on based on your wanted ad),is dated 4/13 of 1971,doesn't mean it could never have a come on a 1972 model.
They made hundreds of thousands of these particular wheels,in designated alotments and some probably sat in a bin,waiting to be used up or applied to the following years model.
Although that other one was assembled a year earlier,it's not unheard of to come on a 1972 model like your car.

Yes the sandblasted one is one of three I picked up later and is close enough - but I was getting worried that my "original" spare maybe wasn't so original, even with the correct tire and what appeared to be original paint. Thanks again for the help. By the way - like the wanted ad says - I still need one more to have a complete set.
