That guy was great, one of the best on the show IMO. Have to figure the carton a day of ciggys he smoked contributed heavily to his demise

That's a tough, tough business too. Had to be some significant stress in that guy's life. 53 years is way too young to leave.

Peace Cap't. Phil.

Sig from the northwestern on this show is a heavy chain smoker. there was one season last year were he was having chest pains and tried to quit smoking. he chwed the crew out for 2 hours before lighting up again. He is also pretty young.

I was talking to Kevin S. a couple of years ago about this show and had asked if any of these boats were his, thankfully Captain Phil was not one of his crew. Sad to hear as he was enjoyable to watch and took good care of his guys. You could NOT pay me enough to work on one of these boats! These guys earn their money every day.

Hell, I smoked for 45 years. Just quit the middle of june. Going on 8 months. Sad part is I loved every one of them. I smoked longer than having wife, cats, dogs, houses, cars, kids etc. Can't say there was a day I didn't like my ciggs. From the very first puff to the last one before bed. I CAN"T SAY THAT FOR OTHER THINGS.

I think Kevin's boat was featured on the first season...it's called the Lady Alaska...if I remember right?

A Mr. Liske was the captain?

Hands down one of the best reality shows that didn't depict a bunch of boring socialites. It's definatley sad news for all that worked with and around him.
