'68 Yenko Corvette
Per Mecum Description... After 35 years in careful storage, this original, one-owner, 7,800 mile, Yenko Corvette is once again ready for takeoff. This Silverstone Silver coupe is a highly original, low mileage example equipped with the high performance L71 427/435 HP Tri Power engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and 4.11 Positraction rear end. In addition to specifying an AM/FM radio, tinted glass, power brakes, telescopic steering and safety harnesses, the buyer ordered additional modifications by Yenko including the GM factory off road side exhaust system, Yenko 5-spoke wheels with Goodyear Polyglas GT Tires, progressive carburetor linkage and a Baldwin Motion hood. The car was driven a mere 7,800 miles before it was stored away in 1976. Recently discovered by a Pittsburgh collector, it has been thoroughly refreshed. The 427 Tri-Power engine has been expertly tuned, and the brake, fuel and cooling systems have been serviced, beyond which the car required only a careful cleanup and detailing. This Yenko's incredible originality is furthered by it's extensive documentation. Items include the original Yenko Bill of Sale, Corvette Order Form, complete Owners Packet including Protect-O-Plate, radio instructions and tag, original embossed leather Yenko key chain,Yenko license plate frame, T-top storage bags and hold-down straps, complete jack, factory seat shims, license plate screws and the original Uniroyal Tiger Paw Spare Tire. Simply put, this may be the most original, lowest mileage, best documented Yenko Corvette in existence. ![]()

I just got the e-mail blast on that one too.
Cool car for sure. Would be nice to see some more chassis and underhood pictures just for reference on such a low mile car. |

Very cool especially for a 68!. Is it original paint and for sure Yenko installed the BM hood?. Are the sidepipes N14 or other RPO or perhaps aftermarket by Yenko?. Interesting paper, is the delivery date a day before the invoice date?. Handshake deal maybe...take 'er home Rich just blast buy and pay tomorrow!? This car has been discussed before. It was at Carlisle for sale. Owner was "accepting offers". I forget what Carlisle I saw it at last year. May have been the Spring show.

Original paint. Saw it at Corvettes at Carlisle this past year. Very nice paperwork. Good patina looks like a legit 7,800 mile car.
Side pipes look like later model or hooker style as the early GM pipes had 4 tubes into a flat chamber then into the side pipe. Rich |

----Those headers appear to be original O.K.Kustoms. They were one of the original suppliers to GM (the main one). You could also buy them over the counter at many speed shops. The OTC sets didnt have the GM part #s stamped in them but were otherwise exactly the same!
----I cant say who made the flat-chamber sets, but they were predominantly pre-68. I found a set of them at Tracys years ago and they now reside on one Bill Towers cars.....Bill S |

I did a frame off on a 67 car that had the early style headers. They were the set off the silver L-88 roadster in Noland Adams book.
