Default Steering Wheel Color Delima

I am replacing the rosewood wheel on my 69 camaro with the orig standard wheel that the car came with. The interior is dark green by the trim code and all the interior componets are original to the car (except the rosewood wheel) . I bought a green steering wheel and shroud and had gary's restore the wheel. It looks beautiful! When i put it on the column, the shade of the green looks way off (too light) . I dont know if the wheel is a med green color or dark green based on the column. How do I tell what color i have? Anyone have an orig dark green wheels and is it standard for the wheel not to match the steering column? Gary painted the wheel the same color - i just dont know if i had a med green wheel to start with and should have a dark green wheel? Anyhow, i dont like the contrast that im seeing. Any advise is appreciated.

Here are a couple pictures of a dark green interior 69 I had. The interior was original paint minus the dashpad. The wheel was original, not painted. I feel like it matched well.

Jason, thanks for the pics.....

The metal on my interior is dark, simular to what im seeing on your dash glove box area. Its hard to tell how that compares to the steering wheel. I talked to Gary today about the color and his POV was that the colored interiors (except black) never really matched the paint to the wheels, due to the wheels are molded color plastic. Ill try to get a pic to share on line with what i have to get more opinions. IMO, the wheel needs to be closer to the Fathom Green color to be a closer match to the steering column. I can live with some mismatch, so long as im not using a med green color wheel instead of a dark green wheel. Is there a color chip avail that would show these colors?

The wheel looks fine to me.

A friend has a completly original '69 convert with the same green interior. Every part has faded to a different shade of green.

Here is a picture of my original green interior. The dark green wheel doesn't match the rest of the interior but its the same color as the turn knob.

Mark, thanks for the posting - on my car, the steering wheel color does match the turn signal molded plastic piece. I did notice that last nite when sam griff came by to give me his professional opinion.

SOoooo, i do think a darker green would be a better match personally, but maybe thats the way these color interiors are.

I did talk to Gary and he had no issue in repainting the wheel to a darker color if i send him a sample of the shade im looking for. Based on what im hearing , maybe im all worried up in my shorts for nothing??

Yeah Eddie, that reminds me, about my "professional opinion"... I'm gonna need you to reimburse me.

And about that "all worried up in my shorts..." This is a family show here and we don't need that kind of talk around here. Don't make me contact the a** - whoppin' police!

Eddie if you paint it darker it wont look right, its like if you put a 1970 green wheel in your car, just doesn't look right in my opinion.
