Does anyone know a good website for values of Silver Quarters and dimes from the 1950s and 1960s? I also have some older silver dollars and half-dollars. Everything that I pull up seems like they're buying bulk gold and silver without any prices.
Thanks, Ed

Hi Ed
Unless your coins are in uncirculated condition, chances are they are worth only scrap silver price. Might be the odd mint mark that is a little tougher to acquire. Maybe check your local book store and browes thru an american coin book, or call a local dealer to see what his thoughs are on them. Good luck.

My sister exchanged some 15 or 20 years ago and they simply put a price on them. For example: a dime was worth $.60 and a quarter was worth $1.50. Is there a multiplier today?

I didn't know that worn out quarters were were anything at all... I am bouncing a 1942 quarter on my desk right now just because I like the sound it makes compared to new quarters... Interesting. I find them all the time.

KITCO.com is a good metals site as well...
pre 64 10 cent and higher is 90 % silver by weight, knock 10 pct off the spot price and you've got your actual silver value.

Kitco is the Site we use when trading in silver and gold. They have the spot, world and London markets. Most of the time those old coins are worth more in silver than in collectable value. My wife just scored pretty big at a garage sale last weekend by buying about a pound of old silverware that had sterling in it. Also a very good Site is www.silverstockreport.com. Going to make her pay for the Chicago trip this year...............yea right!
