Default 8800 mile 69 Z-28 Real Day 2

A HS classmate of mine, Carl T. bought this 69 Z-28 in 1979 for $5000 from the 2nd owner. The first owner sold it in 1973 or 74 with 200 miles on it to the guy Carl bought it from-car has been a race car all it's life but never lettered, cut up etc etc. We though he was insane at the time-$5k for a car. Car had 2300 or so miles on it when Carl bought it in 1979 -never out in rain, bad weather etc ..now has 8800 miles.

At the time it had a tunnel ram and giant hood scoop. Now back to single four but still has Mr Gasket Vertical Gate shifter, Auto Meter and Sun gauges. fiberglass flex fan, Lakewood bars, Holley Blue Pump etc. Carl received the original uncut hood wrapped in blankets when he bought the car

After purchasing it and driving it home, a distance of 25+ miles with his dad following, they ran out of gas on the Interstate. A State Patrolman stopped and went and got them gas. Car had 10" slicks on the rear, open headers etc. Cop just shook and laughed and smiled..must of been a car guy

Car rarely comes out..Not driven in at least 20 years. I stopped by his house many years ago and took pics but the camera innards malfunctioned and everything came out a big blur.

This pic was taken at Pittsburgh Intl Dragway aprox 1975 when the previous owner had it.
