Interesting....<span style="font-style: italic">from the ad</span> "This car came from Reedman Motors (made famous by Baldwin Motion). It was ordered from the factory as a 435 HP, 427 as you will see on the Protecto plate and build sheet. Car has never been hit and appears to have had side pipes at some point. This car currently appears to have a Baldwin Motion 327 in it. The build sheet states that it was originally a military order. My theory is…… the original 427 (modified by Baldwin Motion) was blown up and replaced with a Baldwin Motion 327. I have no documentation of this, this is just my theory. At the very least it is an original paint, never been hit, 435 HP, 4-speed Corvette Coupe. At the very best it may be one of the earliest examples of a Baldwin Motion Corvette in existence."
Never heard of a BM 327 and yes, the earliest BM was the one and only in 1967, The Mason Chevelle |

It was a cool car originally with the 427/435.

----Lets start with his statement about the interior probably being "nearly perfect" original. The interior in the pictures (carpet, door panels, seat covers, probably headliner) is entirely reproduction!
----Im not sure why he has this Reedman-Baldwin/Motion thing. Does anybody know weather Motion ever had anything to do with Reedman in Pennsylvania. Maybe so, but the connection seems weak to me at best. ----I see a Baldwin decal and a couple of Motion emblems that are easily procured. Thats it! Oh,,,and a Motion license plate frame. ----Hey, somebody straighten me out, but this seems like another stab at more value by association. ----The car has value (I wouldnt mind owning it) if some money is spent and a correct style motor is installed, but apparently this owner wants to avoid that path.......Bill S |

VIN 194377S100634
Appears this same car sold in July 2012 but without Motion fable? http://www.corvette-dealers.com/used-for...t-Corvette.html Booklet/POP and/or Tank sheet shown may be from different car(s) as Zone is outright wrong also Dealer Code nothing close to one of the known Reedman Codes of the era. NCRS lists Zone # 21 Dealer Code #001 as Jantzen Chev St. Louis also their info notes tank sheets similar to this belonging to other serial # 67's. Note Jantzen Chev. can be faintly seen on the Tank sheet shown in the ad too. Saddest thing is w/ foolishness aside the car could be strong enough to stand on its own...also reach more $? That's very interesting at the bottom of the Build Sheet. I can see "Export Preparation" and "Gene Janzten" there. Gene Janzten was a performance-minded Chevrolet Dealer that was directly across the street from the St. Louis Corvette Assembly Plant and I've heard many local stories about Corvettes being driven from the plant to the dealership across the street for customer pick-up/delivery. They even had a few neat dealer sponsored Drag cars here in STL.

Of course, there's no way to definitely tie that tank sheet to the car since there's no VIN on it.

I believe the NCRS has a certification program for original paperwork now for these cars. I have had it done a couple of times. Looking at the tank sticker it appears to have the info for them to do it. It is a nominal fee. This would help clear some things up. You need to be a member to get it done.
Daniel already mentioned it above.

Isn't the handwritten "130" supposed to be the last three digits of the VIN or the last three digits plus 500? Some members here discussed it with regards to my 1969 Survivor L79 Corvette. Ed

Pretty sure the hand written # on the tank sheet is a build sequence #, totally unrelated to the Vin also different yet to the assy. line Job # which was grease pencilled onto a few areas of the body.
Wonder if the subject car comes w/ the original build sheet shown or just a copy also more importantly does it belong w/ the car? If tags are original to the car, jiving their info w/ what's on the sheet could narrow down possibilities of it belonging to the car or not? Also regardless of where the car was picked up, shouldn't the dealer # info on the tank sheet be the ordering dealer where the invoice is billed to? So if the POP is original to the Vin also tags original to the car and actually from Reedman there's no way the sheet belongs having Jantzen's dealer code info...or vice versa? And isn't it Jantzen Chevy Mark, not Janzten? Jantzen was the dealer the 3 '68 AIR Team L88's were picked up at even though they were ordered through Gledhill.
