Default 1970 Chevelle SS396 in Daytona Yellow

Saw a very interesting car on Barrett-Jackson. Uses the term "Paint Code Delete". Is the correct term "Paint Code Delete"? Thought the term would be "Special Paint".

This is not the first time I've seen that term, and I'm seeing it more and more lately. Personally, I think it's a misnomer.

I could be wrong but a friend of mine had a L78 Nova that was an odd blue I had never seen on a Nova.I think the GM Canada documentation said "paint delete".I always wondered why someone had never used this option to get a Hugger Orange Nova.

Here is a picture of the trim tag from one of the '70 Chevelles that I have. We consider it "special paint" rather than a paint delete. This particular car is painted a Buick blue.

THIS, to me, is what "paint delete" is.
