Saw a very interesting car on Barrett-Jackson. Uses the term "Paint Code Delete". Is the correct term "Paint Code Delete"? Thought the term would be "Special Paint".
Link : http://www.barrett-jackson.com/appli...70&aid=467 Description This matching numbers Super Sport Chevelle has just received a meticulous rotisserie restoration, completed in November 2012. This is not the first time I've seen that term, and I'm seeing it more and more lately. Personally, I think it's a misnomer.

I could be wrong but a friend of mine had a L78 Nova that was an odd blue I had never seen on a Nova.I think the GM Canada documentation said "paint delete".I always wondered why someone had never used this option to get a Hugger Orange Nova.

Here is a picture of the trim tag from one of the '70 Chevelles that I have. We consider it "special paint" rather than a paint delete. This particular car is painted a Buick blue.
