Default May of found another RARE Hemi

Well I may have found another rare hemi car. It is a 1970 challenger r/t plum crazy hemi car. Car was parked 17 years ago and I found today and gave it a new home. It was painted silver back in the 80's. It is a plum crazy purple car with black interior and black interior. I found a MINT build sheet under rear seat. Just curious how many cars were equipped lie this one. It has power disc brakes, power steering with an auto trans. Vinyl top and black interior is still original. Here is a quick video of when found https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykE1e...lA&index=1

I am working to finish up a 56 Chevy for power tour and took steering column to my good friends dad to have it detailed(knock barnacles off and re paint). He is retired and really enjoys piddling around. He was at a local friend of his garage and his son inlaw came by with some pictures. Well come to out the present owner had contacted him about getting car running and also mentioned he may try and sell it. So my buddies dad mentioned a yellow cuda with original hemi may be for sale. I instantly asked him to call and get a contact number(this took about 3 phone calls as I am climbing the walls with excitement) I call the owner and start asking usual questions about the car. I then ask if the cuda is a manual or auto. He is was silent. He then speaks up and says it is a challenger. I instantly say that's even better. I think he could tell I was excited! I then ask when I can come look at it( it was 25 mins from my house in a small town) He tells me a uncle of his had mentioned the car to his boss who owns a large dodge dealership. He then says he would really like to find out if he wanted car since she was first to act interested in the car. I am know sick to my stomach and wanting to jump off the roof! I tell him I had plans to go to Kansas City following day to look at another car. He tells me he wants to call other guy and will call me either way that night. So I hang up the phone and head to the garage to get a ladder to help me get to the highest pitch on the roof(wink wink). After about 5mins my pone rings and it is him!!!!!!! He had called other guy and he didn't want to buy car but wanted to trade him a new car for the challenger. He told him he needed cash and not a car. He said at the current time he wasn't able to just pay cash for the car. He then tells me if I would like I could come look at car! I couldn't of gotten out of door fast enuff. I drive down interstate 80 west for 17miles passing people like haileys comet. I then go north about 6 miles then west 3 miles on old gravel road. My gps says after 500 feet you will need to exit vehicle to get to disared location(it is now 945pm and pitch black out) I pull up hill and to the left I can see a gravel path to his house. I pull into his yard and he has doors open on a kaunset hut. I walk up and there it is sitting in the rear surrounded by piles of stuff. I then spend next 2hrs crawling all over the car to make sure it is a numbers matching drivetrain. Now knowing it is a legit car we worked out the details and I now am the owner of this BEAST. I will add pics today of how I found it.

There's no way to learn how many were built with options in combination.

But there is a way by individual option. From my novice observation, it's typical of Hemi Challengers. If it has an interesting bumblebee stripe (like V9Y, which is the yellow stripe), then it becomes more special.

That would be great for the Barn Finds section of MCACN. Don't clean it though!

Congrats!
