70 Nova rear spring details

Hello, I am currently replacing the rear leaf spring hardware on my 70 Nova with multi-leaves (5) and have a couple of questions. First, How many rebound clips are there supposed to be on each spring? Mine has 2 per spring but from the rust marks it looks like there could have been 4 at one time. When going to web sites that have them for sale like Ground-Up for example, the replacements look to have 3 per spring, 2 front, 1 rear? Should they be the 2 piece style with what I would call a "saddle" on the bottom like what is currently on mine or should they be the 1 piece strap style? I ordered everything from Eaton spring and they sent a generic strap with a tab on the end but no square slot in the other end to bend the tab through. Maybe I'm just not smart enough to know how to use them. My springs also have the plastic sliders that have the rectangular back and they sent the ones with the oblong nib. Maybe my springs have been changed over the years but I don't think so as hard as everything came apart. Also is there insulators in between the springs near the center pin or is it just metal on metal? I need to call Eaton Spring back Monday and get the correct parts coming but at this point I'm not sure what is correct. Thanks for any help out there. Troy

These are 69 Camaro, I would think 5 leaf Nova is the same. Use these type clamps.

There is no spacer in the center where the bolt is. I have had good luck peening the rivets with a ball peen hammer with the head backed up on something like a heavy vice. I have a section of rail track this works well. Tried an air hammer and it does not get them tight enough.

<span style="font-size: 17pt">As Mikey says, a ball peen hammer works well with these rivets. Here are my 5 leaf springs from my '70 Nova. 1st pic is side by side comparison of original and repro clamps. I used a press to close the clamps around the springs (see photo)...</span>

Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures guys. It certainly helped. Mine are slightly different in the fact that only 2 of my springs have the holes for the clips and plastic sliders. I see both sets shown have all 3 middle leafs with the holes. Maybe mine have been apart at one time? So the 2 piece saddle type clips that are on mine are not the original type? Anybody understand how to use what Eaton Spring sent me? I just don't get it. This is not a restoration as much as just getting it together and functional. My center pin had broke on one side and the rear end had shifted so I thought I would replace all the hardware while I had it apart. Here's what I have...

The picture with the flat strap with the rubber insulator. I need to call them tomorrow to get the correct plastic sliders I'll ask how there are to be used. The plan was to get new center pins, sliders and rebound clips while I had the springs out. Just another one of those 2-3 day jobs that turn into a week and a half long project. I'm sure some of you know what I'm talking about....
