All the old car stories and our old cars always got faster as the years went on.......Imagine that.........LOL.......Here a list of magazine E.T.'s from back in the day.......

Go to the bottom to see the factory built COPO's and Nickey cars, etc..

Biggest two proplems:

2. Drivig technique

I'm not sure tires were quite the handicap that people have made them out to be over the years. At least not by the late 60's when the bigger, low profile tires were coming on the scene. When it comes to launching a high-horse stick car in particular, I'd take a set of F60-15 Polyglas GT's over a set of 225/60-15 Gatorback radials any time.

Agreed.

As for the tires, Z/28's still had E70 15 until 70.
