Was looking thru an old issue of super chevy September 2000, and there was a little picture of a 68 Yenko camaro that was at Super Chevy Memphis. Under the picture it said that "rumors have it that Vance Shappley's low mileage '68 Yenko camaro has never been registered-and never restored. Was wondering if anyone has ever seen or heard about this car.

![]() YS-8019 Seems like little has been posted about this '68 Yenko here in the past? Is all as good as it seems also a non 9737 would be no MM tag or 140 Speedo etc, correct? Been for sale elsewhere lately but on the block @ the May 13-18 Mecum Spring Auction. http://www.mecum.com/auctions/lot_detail...ign=SC0514-R439 ~ Pete ![]() ![]()

In.” lettering on the front fenders, causing more than one competitor to wonder why they could never catch it. What they did not know was that Lancaster had removed and stored the Yenko engine and replaced it with a specially built dual tunnel-ram 427 CI unit for competition. Lancaster showed great foresight in also removing and storing the original interior components for posterity.

These first 20 cars were built without the COPO 9737 designation that included heavier-duty cooling systems, suspension and brake upgrades.
Above is from the ad. I think it is a typo. Should read with 9737 I believe. My car is on that letter too. ??
