Default Serious rainfall, part of I70 is submerged!

News channel is reporting part of I70 near Huber Heights is completely submerged in several feet of water, and that there are cars submerged as well. They said 5 people so far have been rescued from the submerged vehicles. They just said a TREE floated over the highway.

They said it may be days before the highway can re-open.

Never seen rain like this before, and more is reportedly on they way...wow.

Be safe Eric. Friends of our in Colorado narrowly escaped one of the 5 tornadoes that they had there....

I'm fine, it's ~10 miles from me, but there's one helluva mess on the highway right now. The water's started to recede and they're finding cars they didn't even know were there.

That's the highway divider in the middle of the picture.

The news weather people said this is a "once in a hundred years" type of event. There were several large cells that all followed the exact same path which caused the localized flooding, while some areas a mile or two on either side didn't get a drop.

To top it off, there was a tornado reported on the ground today, and that's on top of the one last week, an F3 that luckily didn't do more damage.

WOW....this is not good news since the Cars and Parts swap meet is just down the road this weekend in Springfield. I am going to have to find an alternate route this morning.

I just heard that on the news, glad it wasn't shut down any longer than it was. The Semi drivers sure had fun trying to turn around on the highway last night.
