Default Racing the Yenko(s)

This past Saturday Rob and I made the trek to Sikeston, a top notch 1/8 track. Rob and I have ran several times, but because he runs the Pure Stock circuit that requires the cars to be as they came from the factory, down to the skinny bias ply tires, while I am in a race car, never really a race. Saturday we decided to bracket race. The first race, I treed him with a 5.03 light (brake and box) and ran 6:40 (104 MPH) on a 6.41 dial with a 1.35 short time, while he was slow on the tree and ran a 7.70 (92.13 MPH) on a 7.75 dial, 1.81 60’. As we prepared for the next (final race) and track conditions getting better, we felt we might break out, but would leave our dial ins the same, run them all out, and see what numbers we could put up. This time Rob was on, with a. 512 light (footbraking). I was watching him and was slow on the tree, got out of the groove at mid track, but still felt it was a nice pass. Sure enough, I ran a 6.38 with a 1.33 60’, Rob posted a 7.67 with a 1.82’. Because of his light, I gave this win to Rob, so we left SDS 1 win a piece.

I cannot wait to do it again!

My, that looks like a nice facility. Better you split the races. Hard to live with the winner of two.

Tom. Dave and I are headed to Kentucky this Sunday to see if we can improve on things. It will be the last blast of the season

Sunday is not up yet, but Friday/Saturday some really good air there. If there is enough track temp, cars should fly.
