I have a 70's Camaro factory plastic steering wheel I'd like use but the plastic is sticky and I haven't found anything that cleans/makes it better. Is there a way to get rid of the sticky feel?

tooth paste...minty toothpaste..prefer crest..goop it on there with your hands..rub it in good...wipe it off with a dry rag...cleanest it will ever be..no harsh chemicals to dry it out..get it all off..it will chaulk in the cracks..
what the stickey stuff is is mold release...and 40 years of amour-all.. toothpaste makes it squeeky clean..and it feels good on your hands after..

I've heard putting the steering wheel in a automatic dish washer works well also. Run a full long cycle. Watch how it's placed it will leave marks on the wheel where it touches the dishwasher grate. I have personally never tried this. But hear it works well. Dont tell you wife your doing this. She may not like this idea.
