I have a 427 L88 in a 55 Chevy with short water pump. What additional pulley is needed for the crank to drive power steering when changing from 66-67 standard short water pump pulleys and brackets to deep groove pulleys. The PS is a 68 SWP type. I'm putting Corvette 3883108 on the crank and 3906656 on the water pump. I need something to drive the power steering off the crank. Everything else lines up. I do not have deep groove on the PS. The alt. is deep groove. The photos show it with the standard pulleys. After hearing the Camaro here with the ZL-1 cam in it in the Chevrolet section I'm changing my L88 cam out for the same cam and want to do the pulleys at the same time. Thanks, Larry

You need a three groove cast iron crank pulley, the last groove (away from the motor) drives the p/s pump. Originals are very hard to come by, not sure how the repos's fit/function. That would describe the Impala/Camaro set up, corvette ran P/s with your 108 crank pulley and a different pulley configuration, so you can look into that route as well.

Should be 3869978 pulley. You can find originals on eBay for $250-400

Corvette BB never used 3 groove crank pulley..can use dual cast iron ps pulley like a 67 corvette and the 108 is fine, or use a single ps pulley and a triple crank pulley. Much more expensive to go the chevelle camaro 67 BB route than the corvette setup, especially having the 108 pulley already..the corvette double ps pulley has a groove behind the single making the 108 line up. WO power steering on a corvette or chevelle , one of the grooves in the 108 is unused.

I have a BB corvette cradle for the p/s pump if you need one, looks like the one in the pics is Camaro/Impala.

Alec, you sure do find alot of rare pulleys and brackets. may actually be cheaper going w triple pulley because the corvette ps brackets are expensive and there is 5 pieces

Hello, thank-you for all the input. What about using a two groove 3941107 PS pulley wouldn't that line up also even though its not a deep groove until I could find one. I do have a 4 groove cast crank pulley looks like 3929698 trying to avoid that. What is the number of the double groove PS pulley you have Chuck is it for sale.
