I have no idea what the part number is. Car has smog and the return line. Thanks!

That's Chevrolet #6470423...aka AC #40726.
These are fairly common.I just sold two NOS for $50ea.
It's the same pump shared on the line by a multitude of Chevrolet & GMC 2bbl.& 4bbl. Small block Cars & Trucks beginning in 1970 as well as the years after it.It was soon superseded by Chevrolet #6470779 sometime during 1974-5,but still went by #40726 to AC.
AC soon superseded their number to reflect AC #40987 sometime before 1980.

71 Z-28's did not have a return line, it should have a single 3/8" fuel line. Also, all 71 Z-28's came with smog. If my memeory is correct, the original pump is part #67K40726. Good luck with your search.

Should be a date stamp on one of the box flaps, either top or bottom. You may have to unfold the box a little.

I spoke to Paul at Goat Hill Classics...........

He takes old original correct castings that have the A/C embossed on side and correct weep holes etc and restamps
them to create 40726 pumps and other numbers. He sells these to Heart Beat City, Paragon and many
other vendors.....Evidently most of the restoration industry is pleased with these (???)

I see this above "recreation" on EBAY for $170.00

http://www.ebay.com/itm/1970-Late-72...dX&vxp=mtr

I have TWO Original 40726 pumps.......One is stamped CI 40726 (which Goat Hill said is 69' and older)
and the other is stamped 197J 40726 (which looks like a Julian date plus the "J" ????

Both need Cosmetic Restoration. Goat Hill only does a full dissassembly and resto for $137.50

Can somebody comment on my two pump dates and their possible value as cores OR as restored Originals (after I send them to GOAT HILL)

I had 4 or 5 of the #726 pumps done by Goat Hill....they turned out great.
