Default 1963 Chevrolet 409 on the dyno

Another great photo posted today by GM Media Archives, this one shows a 1963 Chevrolet 409 on the engine dyno at Chevrolet Engineering.

coool pic... color in 1963 !!!

Interesting that it says no smoking inside dyno room...wonder if smoking as allowed outside of dyno room ...signs of the times...

Great vintage picture. I am sure Duntov had some of his experimental engines on this dyno. Engines that never made production, i have pictures of those beasts. Chevy Hemi engine Duntov designed and tested.

That big ol' lever to the operator's left...does that mean the engine is at full throttle?

Very cool pic, trans is a PG also quite the induction setup.
Note the second window w/ dyno console further along the wall before the guy @ the drafting table using a slide-rule also Chevy food and napkins to the right.
