Going through the Z/28 I recently picked up and looking for anything irregular in terms of hardware under the car. One thing that caught my eye is the rear e-brake cable connectors. My understanding was that 69's received the DD marked connectors but I'm not sure if that applies to a late car such as this?
It currently has a matching pair of rear cable connectors that appear to be original to the car. They are a bit crusty and I want to leave them that way but don't see any markings such as double D's. In looking at them further they both appear to have wings at the center of the connectors that stick out about 3/16" or so. Were these correct parts issued on a late car or should they have the double D marked connectors? I have a spare set of the D marked parts here but don't want to change them if these are the right ones used on a Nov 69 built car? Anyone know for sure? ![]() Here's what is on the car and appear to be original. Note the side wings? ![]() Here's the spare double D marked ones I have. No side wings on these. Swap them out or leave alone?

My car was built 08/28/1969 & has the double "D". Gm was always buying from different places. They look the same as everything else in that area...Joe

My llA 69 Z28 had the same ones when i went through the legends they said they were wrong i have talked to others with late car's and they had the same ones the experts don't know a lot about the late car's there are other things that are different. When they tell you they are wrong you are taking the correct things off that came from the factory

I've know several people that have done that just so they can pass judging. If the car was original that way, I would leave it alone....Joe

Those are correct for a late car.
There are soooo many differences on late cars.
