Default 1966 Corvette convertible

I’ll just paste the owner’s description here:

1966 Chevrolet corvette 427-425 hp 4 speed has both tops, motor and transmission have been professionally rebuilt. This is a unrestored car, and could be the original paint. It is believed to be a no hit body with bonding strips in place. The engine block is a 942, the heads are 3873858. The motor is not original to the car but it is a period correct 427-425 1966 corvette motor. This is a true 427 big block car. There is no rust on the car anywhere, it does have a split in the drivers seat.

No mention of any documentation? If it’s a real 427 Corvette, this may be with looking into... especially if that turns out to be the original factory paint.

I contacted the seller asking about documentation... His reply:

“nothing but the vin and trim tag. it has the heavy duty sway bar, tach and oil gauge for 427 car also steel oil line and the indented cross member under harmonic balancer. I had it looked at by a guy that knows a lot about big block vettes he says pretty sure its the real deal.”

Bottom side spray bombed black, something funky up with the rear sway bar, NOM just to name a few. Something looks odd about the paint on the nose also but that might be poor pictures.

----All cross members in 1966 had the indent in the front crossmember. That change came fairly early in 1965 when they found out that the 396 harmonic balancer couldn't be removed without raising the engine up off it's mounts......Bill S

----Milano Maroon/saddle gut was my choice when I went to Lee Chevrolet in Wellesley Hills Ma. and ordered my 1966 Milano Maroon 427/425 convert Corvette. It came in around the 1st of May and My Mom drove it home as I was away at school. I wasn't able to even see it until graduation day in late May. Gut wrenching for a 19 year old dummy like me, but I made up for it!!! I was a very lucky kid and have never forgotten that day or my wonderful Mom, who could drive the wheels off the Vette.......Bill S

Non-factory rear sway bar and crazy amount of rust behind the VIN tag....proceed with caution.
