I know that Van Nuys was apparently inconsistent regarding where they stamped the VIN on engines. I have an early L35 car, and the VIN is by the oil filter. Was there any pattern to how they did this, i.e., different for small vs. big block, or was it just all over the place? Just kind of curious.
