Default Rough '72 LT-1 Corvette Convertible, Factory A/C, Special Paint

NEAT car, but NOM, and sounds rougher than it looks in the pictures (e.g. frame issues). Still, I'd love to pick it up for the right price, make it safe to drive, and enjoy it.

The area around the trim tag appears to have been yellow or bright gold - would be interesting to see more conclusive evidence of the original color. Think Black was also a special order paint color in '72, if I remember correctly....

I don't know much about these C3 Corvettes. Question - without any paperwork or original drivetrain, how would one know for certain that the car was original an LT-1?

The good news is that in 1972 the LT1 engine was called out in the VIN. The AC on an unrestored LT1 is easy to tell and it would be difficult to retrofit during a restoration. I believe the gross weight on the door jamb label is different for an LT1 with AC, but I've always wondered how accurate that is.

I believe they had a specific tach redline at 5600 also. EDIT: See that in the listing comments now

I see what appears to be blue paint at the top of the driver's side door jamb.

Seems like a very honest seller too "buy it for parts". Who else has ever seen a seller state that about a Corvette ?
Would be a fun car to obtain at the right price.
